This video Michael recorded for Sara and Lincoln brings the show to a close. Without the video, the characters would not have closure, and blame themselves for his death. The also got to see him one last time and hear him say goodbye. By ending with the videos, the writer tied up all loose ends and left the viewers satisfied.
